On Sunday, October 19, the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon will run through Corktown, passing Corktown Common. Friends of Corktown Common, in partnership with 40 Oaks and the Corktown Residents and Business Association, will be hosting a cheer station to support all the runners!
There are two ways to support the Corktown/Regent Park Cheer Station
1) Come out on October 19!
From 9am-2pm, there will be entertainment, snacks and more as you cheer for the runners. Come out and show your support and experience Corktown’s biggest party of the year!
2) Support our neighbourhood champion runners!
jill-julieWe have a team of runners running on behalf of the cheer station! Jill & Julie are running the half-marathon to represent 40 Oaks. 40 Oaks, located in the newly redeveloped Regent Park, consists of 87 units of affordable, safe housing, and a 5,000 square foot community hub where people can gather, develop, and participate in activities geared to their needs. During the day, 40 Oaks hosts a meal program as well a community living room. Workshops, classes, and meetings take place in our program rooms throughout the day, and a quiet worship space is home to a weekly gathering. Want to support them?
